Employment Opportunities in a Major Energy Company in the State of Qatar

RASGAS COMPANY LIMITED is in the business of production and sale of Liquefied Natural Gas and related hydrocarbon products.

The Company’s operations facility is located about 80 km north of the capital city; Doha, in the State of Qatar. RasGas is currently building further production facilities both Onshore and Offshore and is seeking highly skilled personnel to fill the following positions.

OPERATIONS ADVISOR

Responsible to provide Operations Input to all stages of EPC projects, through direct interface between the EPC contractor, PMT and RasGas Operations. The position provides technical knowledge and experience to ensure that Expansion activities meet Operability and Maintainability requirements aimed at optimal Capital and Operating cost targets. The overall intent of this position is therefore to assist the Contractor, PMT and Operating Company to maintain high standards in the PMC stage and ensure a seamless and trouble free start up of all associated equipment.

The incumbent should have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent with Minimum 15 years diversified oil and gas sector experience with profit centre responsibility and at least 8 years at the supervisory level. The position requires significant Operating knowledge of the LNG producing facilities, and also the working relationships between the many different departments associated with Major Expansion Projects.

MAINTENANCE AND SYSTEMS SUPPORT SUPERINTENDENT

The purpose of this position is to work, liaise and coordinate with OED, OPCO Maintenance/Operations, PMT and The EPC Contractor’s Commissioning team. To review EPC Contractor provided Recommended Spare Parts list (RSPL) and recommend Spares Stocking levels. To ensure timely availability of Commissioning and Startup Support in the areas of maintenance, Spares, Logistics, Manpower, Operating Supplies etc. The deliverables resulting from these activities must meet both Project and Operating Company Timelines. The position requires considerable Coordination and Supervisory skills, Manpower Supervision includes Contract Manpower, EPC Contractor Manpower and Vendor Manpower. The incumbent is required to organise his manpower availability/skills to match Start-up and Commissioning Schedules.

The Incumbent should have an Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognised educational institution or equivalent with minimum 10 years of diversified experience in the Oil & Gas sector, with at least 5 years at the Management/Supervisory level in the Maintenance or Operations in a major LNG or LPG Plant.

TMR/PESD ENGINEER

Responsible to provide Engineering TMR/PESD and Control expertise to the RasGas Expansion Group (Onshore and Offshore) in relation to all control ESD/TMR Control Equipment (Triconex) and related operational and functional procedures. The work covers the Commissioning and Start-up Phase of the Project followed by the period that the New Facilities will be operated by The RasGas Expansion Group until the Facilities are finally handed over to RasGas Operations. This includes covering preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance in all disciplines. The Incumbent will also be required to provide expert technical advice and support as required on the design, construction and modification of all Control Systems, together with vendor and contractor support. Leads investigations relating to problems, design, and will recommend and implement modifications as required.

Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Control Systems or Electrical) with minimum of 15 years diversified experience in the Maintenance of Oil/Gas process plants Triconex and TMR Control equipment. In addition they must have as a minimum, 5 years supervisory experience. Experience of working in an LNG Plant would be a distinct advantage.

ANALYSER ENGINEER

Responsible to provide Process, Gas, Liquids and Environmental Analyser technical, expertise to the RasGas Expansion Group (Onshore and Offshore) in relation to all installed Analysers and sampling systems and confirm the integrity of these assets to ensure they are safe for operation and are optimised for reliability, availability and performance. The work covers the Commissioning and Start-up Phase of the Project followed by the period that the New Facilities will be operated by The RasGas Expansion Group until the Facilities are finally handed over to RasGas Operations. This includes covering preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance in all disciplines. The incumbent will also be required to provide expert technical advice and support as required on the design, construction and modification of all Analyser. Analyser Sampling Systems together with vendor and contractor support. Leads investigations relating to problems, design, and will recommend and implement modifications as required.

Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Control Systems, Electrical or Chemical) with minimum 15 years diversified experience in the Maintenance of Oil/Gas process plants. Must have experience in Gas, chromatographs and sample conditioning systems, gas, fluids and Environmental on-line Process Analysers. Experience in microprocessor based Fire and Gas systems would also be an advantage. In addition they must have as a minimum, 5 years supervisory experience. Experience of working in an LNG Plant would be a distinct advantage.

DCS/CONTROLS ENGINEER

Responsible to provide Engineering DCS and Control expertise to the RasGas Expansion Group (Onshore and Offshore) in relation to all control data bases of the Distributed Control System (Foxboro I/A DCS). Control data backup, process displays and control database integrity, software and hardware DCS related operational and functional procedures. Hardware/Software sub-systems interface with DCS and Integrated Control and information Management Systems. The work covers the Commissioning and Start-up Phase of the Project followed by the period that the New Facilities will be operated by The RasGas Expansion Group until the Facilities are finally handed over to RasGas Operations. This includes covering preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance in all disciplines.

Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Control Systems or Electrical) with a Minimum of 15 years diversified experience in the Maintenance of Oil/Gas process plants DCS Control Systems. In addition they must have a minimum 5 years supervisory experience. Experience of working in an LNG Plant would be a distinct advantage. Must have experience in Process Control Database Management and control schemes.

METERING ENGINEER

Responsible to provide expert technical support to the metering systems installed as part of the expansion projects and be responsible for the transition from Project Management Team (PMT) to RasGas Operations.

The Incumbent must have an Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronic or Control/Measurement from a recognized University plus eligibility professional membership of an Engineering Council with at least 10 years experience with gas, liquid particularly LNG and Condensate) flow measurement and tank gauging fiscal systems. Specific knowledge on orifice, ultrasonic, coriolis and turbine type meters, in gas, liquid and multiphase service and fiscal/allocation metering technologies, knowledge with the relevant standards, in particular, ISO, MPMS and AGA.

MECHANICAL/PIPING INTEGRITY ENGINEER

The Incumbent will be required to Punch List, review piping layout design and raise technical queries as required. The work covers all piping and piping systems on new Project work associated with the Onshore LNG Process Plant, Offsite Facilities, Utilities and Offplot Utilities, some Offshore work may also be required. The work covers the Commissioning and Start-up Phase of the Project followed by the period that the New Facilities will be operated by The RasGas Expansion Group until the Facilities are finally handed over to RasGas Operations.

The incumbent must have an Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 12 years experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industry in the Piping Discipline and at least 6 years specific involvement in capital projects for major facilities. Experience in piping system design and pipe stress analysis. Fully familiar with all the applicable ANSI and ASME Piping and vessel codes

INSTRUMENT SUPERVISOR

Responsible to provide Instrument Supervision/Expertise and to direct and control a Multi - Discipline Team carrying out Commissioning, Start-up and daily maintenance activities associated with LNG Process Trains, Offsite Facilities, Utilities and Qffplot Utilities. This includes covering preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance.

The incumbent should have a Higher national certificate or diploma (HNC or HND) or equivalent from a recognized Institution with minimum 15 years diversified experience in the Maintenance of Oil/Gas process plants, certified within the area of expertise with 5 years in a Supervisory capacity. Experience and knowledge of Plant Process Instrumentation including Smart Transmitter Technology, Custody Metering and LNG Tank Gauging. In addition the incumbent shall have a clear understanding of microprocessor based technology associated with these instrument systems and their respective interfaces to Foxboro DCS, Triconex ESD Modicon PLC or equivalent systems.

ELECTRICAL SUPERVISOR

Responsible to provide Electrical Supervision/Expertise and to direct and control a Multi - Discipline Team carrying out Commissioning, Start.up and daily maintenance activities associated with the LNG Process Train, Offsite Facilities, Utilities and Offplot Utilities. This includes covering preventative the predictive and breakdown maintenance.

The incumbent should have a Higher national certificate or diploma (HNC or HND) or equivalent from a recognized institution with minimum 15 years diversified experience in the Maintenance of Oil/Gas process plants, certified within the area of expertise with 5 years in Supervisory capacity. Must have extensive knowledge of Electrical equipment including Power Generation and excitation systems, HV/LV Power distribution, Switchgear, HV/LV Electrical Motors and associated protection relays, UPS systems and procedures associated with hydrocarbon plants. Extensive knowledge of Hydrocarbon and LNG Plant safety procedures.

MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR

Responsible to provide Mechanical Supervision/Expertise and to direct and control a Multi - Discipline Team carrying out Commissioning, Start.up and daily maintenance activities associated with the LNG Process Train, Offsite Facilities, Utilities and Offplot Utilities. This includes covering preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance.

The incumbent should have a Higher national certificate or diploma (HNC or HND) or equivalent from a recognized institution with a Minimum of 15 years diversified experience in the Maintenance of Oil/Gas process plants, certified within their area of expertise. In addition they must have as a minimum, 5 years Supervisory experience. Experience of Frame 6 or Frame 7 (preferably both) Gas Turbines, Electrical Generators and auxiliary equipment, exposure to Maintenance of Steam Generating and water handling equipment and familiar with Desalination Plant, Waste System and general Utility Services.

For all the above positions, candidates must have a high level of Computer literacy good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Computerised Management System such as SAP. He should possess excellent leadership skills with the ability to work as a team member, strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and excellent Business English Communication skills and the ability to work in a multinational environment with wide exposure to various cultures and customs. Good exposure/experience with the concept and application of Quality Management system. Specific experience with ISO 9000 would be an advantage.
