We are leading PMA / International company which has been well established in South East Asia and Pacific regions, is now looking to recruit a high caliber person for the following position:

PROJECT MANAGER - MINING

Experience :
Applicants should have:
1. Minimum 8 years experience in mining industries, preferably with mining contractors
2. First class English skills, in particular written English must be of a very high standard.

Role responsibilities :
1. Take particular responsibility to ensure that Company policy for quality, safety and environment is adhered to.
2. Manage all the Company’s dealings with the Client at site and maintain a professional and proactive relationship with the Client at all times
3. After award review all bid documentation, bid estimates and become familiar with the Contract and all procedures, mine plans and milestones required under the Contract.
4. Implement existing formal project procedures for all aspects of the work and ensure that adequate checks and balances are built into the organization and procedures
5. Develop an organization chart using the Company model which will describe the Project team and which includes all functions required within the Project and under the Contract. Functional areas of work may include Mining Operations, Mining Engineering, Asset Management, Commercial, Procurement, Finance & Accounting, Safety, Formalities, Human Resources.
6. Manage the assignment, recruitment and maintenance of an effective Project Team in coordination with the relevant functional groups
7. Develop a project strategy with respect to the use of the Company’s Business Mining System which will consist of a Master Plan and forecast of work against that Plan and a project schedule that coordinates all activities and resources required to complete the Contract.
8. Initiate the Project by conducting a kick off meeting with the Project Team and assign duties and responsibilities as detailed in the functional matrix.
9. Liaise with the Asset Manager for all equipment to be mobilized to the Project location and maintain a fleet configuration that will meet or exceed production targets.
10. Implement existing formal project procedures for all aspects of the work and ensure that adequate checks and balances are built into the organization and procedures.
11. Prepare a project budget on the basis of the Project estimate using corporate guidelines and implement the Company cost control system. Take personal responsibility and accountability for cash flow, receivables and return on capital of the Project
12. Manage the progress and performance of all functional areas of the Project Team
13. Arrange and manage all statutory permits and approvals as required to proceed with the Contract
14. Maintain Project filing register to ensure all documentation is under control.
15. Prepare regular and timely reports on project progress as required by the Client under the Contract and by the Company using Company standards
16. Monitor all changes to the Contract scope of works and prepare appropriate contractual responses and claims and negotiate to settlement
17. Take action to improve production, maintain schedule compliance on planned maintenance and reduce cost as appropriate
18. Represent the Company in all meetings and matters pertaining to the Contract with respect to the Client and any third party
19. Arrange for all progress claims and documentation required under the Contract to be prepared in a timely and professional manner
20. Promote teamwork with the Project
21. Cooperate and co-ordinate in the training and mentoring of personnel as required by the Company
22. Take particular responsibility to ensure harmonious and cooperative relationships in industrial relations, community relations and staff welfare in all aspects of the Project

Education:
S1 (BS) Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university, overseas degree would be an advantage
